Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup Butter melted and cooled
  • 1/4 cup White Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Packed Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Beaten egg (1/2 egg)
  • 3/4 cup Flour (or gluten-free flour + 1/3 tsp Xanthan gum)
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • Pinch Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla, or flavoring of choice
  • Up to 1 cup Additional ingredients like chopped nuts for texture and flavor
Instructions
  1. Combine melted butter, sugars and egg with vanilla or other flavoring.
  2. Stir in baking soda and salt.
  3. Stir in flour and additional ingredients, like nuts or chocolate chips.
  4. Chill dough for 15 minutes. Shape into balls of desired size, flattening if large or loaded with extra ingredients. Unbaked cookies can be frozen in an airtight container or zipper closure freezer bag for up to 6 months, if desired.
  5. Bake cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a pre-heated 350°F oven until set and golden, about 12 - 14 minutes for an un-frozen 2 Tbsp cookie. Cool on a wire rack before eating.
