Chocolate Granola
Even picky eaters will like this! Pack it in a snack bag to go.

  • 1 1/2cups Rolled Oats(Large flake preferred)
  • 1cup Chopped Nuts,any kind
  • 1/2cup Seeds,Ground Flax, Sesame, Millet, Sunflower, or a mixture
  • 1/4cup Coconut,any kind
  • 1/2cup Applesauce
  • 1/2cup Packed Brown Sugar
  • 2Tbsp Liquid Honey
  • 2Tbsp Maple Syrup or Corn Syrup
  • 2Tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1Tbsp Neutral flavor Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2tsp Salt
  • 1/2Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2Tsp Ground Ginger
  • Optional Dried Fruit of choice
  1. Combine oats, nuts, seeds and coconut in a large bowl.
  2. Combine all other ingredients except dried fruit. Stir to make a slurry.
  3. Add the cocoa slurry to the oat mixture, stirring to coat the dry ingredients well.
  4. Spread on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a uniform layer.
  5. Bake in a preheated 300 °F oven for 1 hour, rotating the pan half-way through the baking time.
  6. Allow to cool completely before breaking into nuggets of the desired size. Mix in dried fruit, if using.
  7. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
