This one's for you, Gina! This soft, intensely chocolate cake is perfect for celebrations.

This is a bit of a "travel blog" posting. I had such a good time with my family in Nova Scotia! Don't feel you need to use corned beef -- Montreal Smoked Beef is my personal favorite.
More 'Fun With Custard"! A strata makes a nice change from grilled cheese, with many of the same ingredients. Try it with lots of sauteed mushrooms -- it's like a bowl of mushroom soup and a sandwich had a head-on collision. Choose your own adventure!
Bread Pudding made with summer berries is a delicious treat. This excellent multi-tasker yields comfort food at any time of the year. It's a sweet treat that won't kill you with kindness (like a hot fudge sundae can do). Lots of ideas for variations -- and of course you can always customize this recipe to your personal taste. Enjoy!
I think this is the last of the noodle articles. Peanut sauce is a good multi-tasker: excellent for stir-fry, good as a salad dressing, and excellent for dipping salad rolls, which I will get to in the fullness of time.
Although I love going out for Thai food, this version of Pad Thai is fine-tuned to suit my particular tastebuds. You can do it too! The recipe uses ingredients that are easy to source, and I'm sure you'll find it's almost as easy as take-out once you get the hang of it. It's truly "fast food". Sorry about the dirty dishes...but it's worth it!
I came across a recipe for "Gooey Chocolate Microwave Mug Cakes with Caramel Sauce and Peanuts" on the Epicurious site that looked pretty exciting, although nothing like the cake pictured in this recipe. I'll test-drive the chocolate recipe soon, but meanwhile I was pleased to find a lot of validation for my own coffee cup cake recipe, which was due for editing and re-publishing anyway. This one's for you, Kylie. , so here we are. This one's for you , Kylie.
Butterscotch sauce figures in a few of my dessert recipes, so I thought I would give it a posting of its own. It figures importantly in the Caramel Apple Coffee Cup Cobblers, which are coming right up.
ACK! I hit the publish button earlier today before I should have! Sorry sorry sorry! I'm publishing this recipe in honor of my sister, Gina, who refers to all good things as "The Brown Food Group" (chocolate, gravy, coffee), and always reserves a little spot in her tummy to include a representative as part of her meal.
You know how that smell of cinnamon buns is practically intoxicating? Here's how you can have that treat without overdosing. Gooey caramel bottoms, extra pecans or no nuts at all, and as much cinnamon as you like -- you can enjoy them as hot out of the oven as you can stand.
