Concentrated tea essence is useful for making single servings of iced tea. It was a staple for the Church Ladies, who used it to make endless pots of fresh tea to serve large crowds.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup loose tea leaves or 8 tea bags
- 2 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Place tea in a teapot or a 4-cup glass measuring cup.
- Add 2 cups boiling water.
- Allow tea to steep for 6 minutes, or up to 10 minutes for herbal teas.
- Strain, or remove teabags.
- Store in a covered container in the refrigerator.
- To reconstitute, start with 1 Tablesoon of Tea Essence in 1 cup of water, hot or cold. Adjust to taste.
