Did you grow up on Kraft® Dinner? Here’s an alternative that’s just as fast.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Dry pasta (small shapes work best) (Gluten Free Pasta works too)
- 1 tsp Butter (that's a "blob")
- 1/4 cup milk or cream (or evaporated milk, or no-fat cream)
- 1/2 cup Grated cheese, loosely packed (about 2 ounces)
- Seasoning of choice, to taste (salt, pepper, hot sauce, dry mustard, herb blend, etc., etc)
- Add-ins of choice (bacon bits or spinach -- check the full posting for ideas)
Instructions
- In a 1-quart saucepan of boiling, salted water, cook the pasta to the "al dente" stage. Drain and return to the pot.
- Add butter and milk or cream. Bring to the boil.
- Reduce heat or remove pan from the burner. Add cheese and stir enthusiastically until it is fully melted.
- Season to taste. Stir in optional add-ins.
- The sauce will thicken as the mixture cools, so don't eat it right out of the saucepan. Put it in a proper bowl, and enjoy.
